About The Position

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation, an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services, offers a revolutionary neurorehabilitation program that transitions individuals from institutional settings to their natural home and community environments. This continuum of care is specifically designed to help people who have experienced brain injury, spinal cord injury, or stroke/CVA regain functional capabilities. By providing care in the home, community, workplace, or school, Rehab Without Walls promotes greater health through the recovery process, aiming to dramatically improve functional skills and independence for patients. The Rehabilitation Technician supports therapists with patient care and treatment activities in a neuro rehab setting, assists with activities of daily living including personal care, transports patients within the clinic and community, and helps maintain clean and organized treatment areas.

Requirements

  • Compassionate, reliable team player comfortable with hands-on patient care.
  • Ability to support patients in a fast-paced rehab environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.
  • Demonstrates effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Able to relate and work with the disabled, ill, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the facility.
  • Able to work independently and part of a team.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance coverage.
  • Motor vehicle driver record background check results are within acceptable company standards at time of hire and annually thereafter.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience driving a motor vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior healthcare or rehab experience strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of six months prior work/volunteer experience providing individual instructions in a health care environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience in patient care in a rehabilitation center is preferred. Therapy students are considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support therapists with patient care and treatment activities in a neuro rehab setting.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including toileting and personal care as needed.
  • Transport patients to and from treatment areas as scheduled.
  • Transport clients in company van, as needed, for community activities.
  • Prepare patients for treatment and assist with patient mobility and hands-on support during sessions.
  • Assist with and/or provide treatment as directed by therapists.
  • Support basic documentation, administrative tasks, and clinic flow as needed, including computerized activities.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the treatment areas and department.
  • Assist in maintaining an adequate stock of supplies and equipment.
  • Record daily treatment charges and documentation in accordance with approved billing and documentation guidelines.
  • Coordinate work activities with members of other departments and other staff within the rehabilitation department.
  • Participate in department meetings and in facility meetings as assigned.
  • Participate in Facility Performance Improvement programs.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct in relation to information that is confidential in nature, sharing information only when recipient's right to access is clearly established.
  • Adhere to and participate in Company’s mandatory Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act privacy program/practices and Business Ethics and Compliance programs/practices.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, be reliable and punctual, cooperative and conduct self according to accepted standards of professional practice in the course of assigned duties.
  • Attend/participate in internal staff development programs as required by facility.
  • Report any safety concerns, or issues to management immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
