Role: Rehabilitation Counselor Term: Full-time/permanent Location: Onsite in Gowanda, NY Travel: Candidates must have clean, valid license for company and/or personal vehicle use. Work Schedule: 4x10s - Monday 8-6pm, Tuesday 8-6pm, Wednesday 12pm to 10pm, Saturday 12pm to 10pm. Off Thursday/Friday/Sunday Compensation: starting at $19.57 Per Hour Benefits: We offer paid-time off, paid holidays, affordable medical/dental/vision, 403b retirement plan, Company paid life insurance and a profit sharing plan. Candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check through the NYS Office of Mental Health. JOB FUNCTION: This individual will provide case management, rehabilitative, and restorative services to residents within our Supportive Housing program. Counselors are responsible for teaching, coaching, and monitoring residents’ daily living activities in a community residence or apartment setting, in order to develop skills, abilities, and experience that will facilitate greater opportunity for the resident to live independently.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human services-related field; or an associate degree in human service-related field and three years’ experience in human services; or a high school diploma and five years’ experience in human services.
Must possess a working knowledge of current issues and concerns of people with mental illness, rehabilitative training methods, and community resources.
Compassion, sensitivity and understanding for individuals suffering from mental illness and substance abuse.
Professional demeanor
Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
Be able to travel to and among various facilities that are multileveled with stairs only.
Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
May be required to use personal vehicle for programmatic purposes. (Mileage reimbursed for site-to-site travel).
Criminal Background check approved by NYS Office of Mental Health
