Travel: Candidates must have clean, valid license for company vehicle use. May require use of personal vehicle for travel from site-to-site (mileage reimbursed). Work Schedule: Monday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Compensation: starting at $19.57 Per Hour Candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check through the NYS Office of Mental Health. JOB FUNCTION: This individual will provide case management, rehabilitative, and restorative services to residents within our Supportive Housing program. Counselors are responsible for teaching, coaching, and monitoring residents’ daily living activities in a community residence or apartment setting, in order to develop skills, abilities, and experience that will facilitate greater opportunity for the resident to live independently.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human services-related field; or an associate degree in human service-related field and three years’ experience in human services; or a high school diploma and five years’ experience in human services.
• Experience with documentation.
• Must possess a working knowledge of current issues and concerns of people with mental illness, rehabilitative training methods, and community resources.
• Compassion, sensitivity and understanding for individuals suffering from mental illness and substance abuse.
• Professional demeaner
• Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
• Be able to travel to and among various buildings that are multileveled with stairs only.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• May be required to use personal vehicle for programmatic purposes.
• Criminal Background check approved by NYS Office of Mental Health
• Candidates must have clean, valid license for company vehicle use.
