About The Position

The Rehab Technician is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient-care related activities under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and/or Speech/Language Pathologist. This role involves monitoring the patient's response to activities and reporting these responses to the supervising therapist. Additionally, the Rehab Technician performs a variety of general administrative responsibilities, which may include maintaining the environment of care, general departmental maintenance, cleaning equipment, stocking linens, ordering and stocking supplies, monitoring equipment temperatures and functions, and managing patient scheduling and registration. These duties support the safe and efficient operations of the department. The incumbent must be able to judge the patient’s response to treatment and report back accurately and timely, demonstrating effective communication skills. The role may also involve coordination or supervision of volunteers in therapy areas. Work hours and days are based on assignment and may include holidays, evenings, and weekends. The incumbent may be considered an “essential employee” and required to work during inclement weather.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s record is required if driving the Rehab Van
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to deliver patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and/or Speech Pathologist
  • Ability to judge the patient’s response to treatment and report back to the therapist accurately and timely
  • Effective communication skills, especially one-on-one
  • Willingness and ability to work with any patient types

Nice To Haves

  • CNA Certification
  • Previous experience working with the specific populations (Pediatrics, Adults, etc.) based on assignment
  • Previous work experience in a hospital/clinic setting
  • Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications to include word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc.

Responsibilities
