Job Summary Supervises both professional and non-professional support staff. Performs duties of a physical therapist including direct patient care, evaluations and plans of care. Works in close cooperation with therapy coordinators to provide seamless delivery of care. Education/ Experience Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Physical therapy experience preferred Licensure / Cerification Kansas icensure, Heath Care Provider CPR, APTA/KPTA membership optional Functions Consults with physicians regarding patient treatments, equipment, needs, and department direction. Physician input is acted on to provide needed services now and in the future. Develops goals and objectives consistent with the hospital's strategic plan and in response to the needs of physicians and others. Goals are established and accomplished in appropriate time frames. Delegates duties effectively. Supervises staff members appropriately for required duties following Kansas law. Performs physical therapy services to patients of all ages as required including patient evaluation, treatment, plan of care and progression. Quality care is consistently demonstrated. Ensures the completion of patient care to all patients referred for physical therapy services. Staff officiency, competency, and patient problems are monitored. Physician complaints are addressed and corrected when appropriate. Responsible for equipment and work areas to meet compliance with hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory agency guidelines. Opens, or secures buiding at closing, depending on hours Assumes additional responsibilities, duties and projects as requested or assigned.
