About The Position

Saint Joseph Hospital, a 433-bed hospital founded in 1877 in Lexington, Kentucky, is seeking a Rehab Aide. As a Rehab Aide, you will assist licensed therapists in providing therapeutic care and support to patients undergoing rehabilitation. This role involves preparing treatment areas, assisting patients with exercises and mobility, managing equipment, and maintaining a safe and organized clinical environment as delegated. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting patient progress and therapist needs within the rehabilitation setting. This is a Weekend PRN Position.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Responsibilities

Assist licensed therapists in providing therapeutic care and support to patients undergoing rehabilitation
Prepare treatment areas
Help patients with exercises and mobility
Manage equipment
Maintain a safe and organized clinical environment as delegated
Transport and transfer patients to, from, and within the department
Initiate, prepare, and provide routine treatment, such as hydrotherapy, hot and cold packs, ultrasound and paraffin bath, upon the direct request of the physical therapist or physical therapy assistant
Report any unfavorable responses to exercise or equipment to the therapist
Position patients and bring equipment to the treatment area
Change linens on plinth when appropriate
Clean treatment machines
Perform other cleaning as required to keep department neat and orderly
Inventory and requisition supplies and equipment
