About The Position

This position is responsible for performing the more complex licensing activities which includes determination of applicant eligibility for examination, certification, licensure or registration for various professions within the department.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of application requirements, including Florida Statutes, Board and Department rules, and educational programs.
  • Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and written.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Basic Internet research and navigation.
  • Knowledge of the department's document imaging and licensing systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Basic grammar skills.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of professional office experience; and
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Software.

Responsibilities

  • Independently reviews applications and supporting documents assigned through the department's document imaging system to determine applicants' qualifications for examination, certification, licensure or registration in accordance with the laws and rules.
  • This includes license renewals and requests to change addresses, names, and statuses.
  • Processes applications by utilizing the department's licensing system.
  • Provides applicants personal guidance regarding applications in writing and making verbal contact with the applicant if necessary.
  • Prepares applications for board and committee meetings.
  • Maintains board and exam lists utilizing Microsoft applications.
  • Participates in meetings and attends training sessions as scheduled.
  • Participates in the testing of new application software and changes in processing procedures.
  • Reports events, errors or trends to supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
