We are currently seeking a Regulatory Scientist for our Chemical Regulation & Food Safety Practice to be based in the Washington, DC office. In this role you will work as part of a team to provide a high level of project management, technical assistance, and FIFRA regulatory and registration with the consultants in the Center for Chemical Regulation and Food Safety.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a science-related field
  • This is an on-site position. Candidates must be currently based or willing to relocate to or near the Washington, DC area
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat required, experience with MS Project a plus
  • Exposure to sensitive information will necessitate considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment
  • Entrepreneurial spirit is a plus
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with state and/or federal pesticide regulations a plus
  • Experience in a scientific and/or research environment a plus
  • Experience with project management, budget tracking, and invoicing a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and tracking client projects, project deliverables, and budgets with project team
  • Interacting with internal project staff to discuss client projects, tasks, and deliverables
  • Interacting and communicating with clients on updates and progress of work
  • Supporting interactions with EPA and state regulators as needed
  • Gaining a strong understanding of FIFRA regulatory policy
  • Preparing and submitting Federal and State registration applications
  • Providing regulatory and technical review and quality control support for FIFRA and related projects
