The Lien Collection Supervisor is a professional supervisory position responsible for thoroughly reviewing all cases submitted to the lien unit for processing. The goal is to ensure that due process requirements are fully satisfied, and to determine whether a Notice of Intent to Lien and/or a Lien may be filed against a specific property. Job components include the following: Ensuring the processing of all liens and overseeing the Standard Operating Procedures of the Unit as it relates to settlement policies and procedures. Assisting with inquiries from the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) on complex cases and serving as the liaison with Finance, Credit and Collections, and the Certificate of Occupancy (COC) for lien referrals and collection effort inquiries. Working with relevant building and zoning codes to ensure proper processing of violations and compliance with settlement requirements for liens. Researching documents related to foreclosures, title searches, property records, consent agreements, Hearing Officer Lien packages, research requests, and special releases of liens. Handling escalated issues within the unit and providing responses as needed to upper management, commissioner's offices, the Office of the Mayor, and constituent requests. Reviewing cases and producing collection reports and statistics to track collection efforts made by the unit or for special projects.
