1.Completes the Pre-admission / admission process for all patients without error according to policies and procedures established by the hospital. 2.Obtains and verifies the demographic and financial information required for the registration of all patients. Ensures that benefits have been verified, pre-authorizations have been obtained and all other requirements by the insurer have been met on 100% of all registrations. 3.Ensures that all Outpatient Registration facesheets have a complete copy of the physician’s order and copy of insurance card attached along with any other required documents before being sent to the Patient Accounting Department. 4.Explains and obtains signatures immediately for consent for treatment, financial responsibility and any other related forms on each registration. 5.Explains basic insurance and financial information to the patient and request deposits and co-pays as required. Refers self -pay patients to the Financial Counselor when deposits or insurance benefits are inadequate. 6.Strives to complete the registration process within ten minutes of the patient’s arrival in the registration department and directs them to the appropriate service area. 7.Enters all payments into Epic, provides patient with receipt, completes all processes for posting payments and balancing cash drawer. Completes deposit at the end of each shift and delivers to cashier. 8.Answer incoming phone calls within three (3) rings. Greet patients and visitors courteously and direct them as needed. Schedule existing patients for follow-up visits as needed. 9.Follow proper procedures for disbursement of notes to chart and physician. Maintain outpatient and inpatient files, both current and inactive. 10.General typing to include Performance Improvement and correspondence. Other typing duties as directed by supervisor. 11.Follow departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control. Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and in ordering of supplies as needed. 12.Schedule patients for treatment in accordance with available auxiliary and equipment as needed. 13.Regularly assists in the cleaning and organizing of the registration area. 14.Performs data entry correctly and run appropriate reports to verify accuracy.
