Here spend the day enjoying Horses-History-and Hospitality. There is even a 20’ tall Eiffel Tower! Position summary: Collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process. Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, Required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree, Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
  • Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
  • Meets with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.
  • Communicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
  • Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.
  • Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.
  • Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.
  • Accepts all call schedule as directed.
  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.
