The Registrar is responsible for accurately and efficiently registering patients for hospital services, ensuring proper identification, insurance verification, and collection of demographic and financial information. This role involves interviewing patients and/or their representatives, explaining hospital policies and procedures, obtaining necessary signatures and consents, and entering data into the hospital's electronic health record system. The Registrar also plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries, and coordinating with other hospital departments to facilitate a smooth and positive patient experience. Interviews customers for data retrieval Abstracts medical information necessary from the mother's and baby's chart for completion of the birth certificate form Retains and understands federal, state, and county regulations as it pertains to birth registry Completes Paternity Acknowledgements submitted to the state Locates and orders medical charts when necessary Reports Immunizations via EBC program Must Attend appropriate courses for Birth Registrar Keeps Census for Daily Births birth book Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days.
