Job Description Conducts vascular ultrasound exam of outpatients. Obtains patient history and performs clinical assessments and and diagnostic Lab examinations of carotid, peripheral arterial, venous, and visceral studies, as well as endovenous laser (EVLA) procedures. Maintains exceptional patient care. Responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process. Analyzes, interprets, and records data obtained from test results. Conducts follow-up studies as required. Records information from tests and analyzes using diagnostic criteria. Completes all paperwork and reports for each study and/or procedure. Maintains equipment to ensure operational effectiveness. Participates in Quality Assurance process. Provides support for maintaining ICAVL accreditation. Responds to physician questions and clinical needs regarding patient exams/ procedures Ensures a clean, stocked, well-equipped work area. Performs other duties as required in support of the lab. Position requires knowledge of all areas of vascular scanning including bypass grafts, stents, stent grafts, dialysis access fistulas and grafts, and endovenous laser procedures. This position requires travel between the central, Hartford, and east regions as needed for coverage. Travel between offices

Requirements

  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years- experience as a Registered Vascular Technologist preferred.
  • Positive, customer-focused approach, with commitment to providing excellent patient care.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree desirable
  • Knowledge of the ICAVL certification process helpful.
