About The Position

Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. Assesses patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis. Implements and monitors patient care plan and equipment. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition. Performs advanced respiratory care modalities. Evaluates respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome. Educates the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs. Responds to emergency resuscitation team code.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional letter will be accepted until license is issued.
Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
2 years critical care experience preferred.
