About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides comprehensive respiratory care services to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in an acute care hospital setting. This role requires strong independent clinical skills, experience with advanced respiratory therapies, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license
  • Minimum of 2+ years of recent acute care RRT experience
  • Current certifications required: BLS ACLS PALS NRP
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
  • Ability to work independently with minimal orientation
  • Local candidates are not accepted
  • Candidates must reside outside a defined local radius
  • Applicants whose primary residence falls within restricted local regions are not eligible for new contracts
  • Eligibility for extensions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Responsibilities

  • Administer respiratory treatments including aerosol therapy and oxygen delivery
  • Initiate, manage, and monitor ventilator support and non-invasive ventilation
  • Perform airway management and emergency respiratory interventions
  • Assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency response situations
  • Conduct arterial blood gas collection and interpret results
  • Monitor patient response to therapies and escalate care as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
