About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have strong adult critical care experience , the ability to manage complex respiratory therapies, and experience working with trauma-level patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience .
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in the state of South Carolina.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of Epic charting experience .
  • Trauma Level I experience required .
  • Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in: Airway & Respiratory Care Extubation Nasal airway placement Oral airway placement Oral and tracheal suctioning Tracheostomy care Pulmonary hygiene Sputum specimen collection Respiratory Therapies & Equipment High-flow nasal cannula Trach collar oxygen therapy CPAP and BiPAP management Mechanical ventilation troubleshooting High-pressure alarm management Ventilator weaning Medication Administration Experience administering respiratory medications including: Albuterol Atrovent Combivent Flovent Inhaled steroids Lidocaine Perforomist Pulmicort Racemic epinephrine Spiriva Terbutaline sulfate Tobramycin Xopenex Medication Delivery Systems Aerosol mask setup Aerosol trach setup Metered-dose inhalers Handheld nebulizers T-piece nebulizers Trach collar nebulizers

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy care to adult and geriatric patients.
  • Perform respiratory assessments and monitor patient respiratory status.
  • Administer respiratory medications and therapies as ordered.
  • Manage mechanical ventilation, CPAP, and BiPAP therapies .
  • Assist with extubation and airway management procedures .
  • Maintain accurate documentation using the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Float to other units within competency as required.
