About The Position

At University Hospitals, the Registered Respiratory Therapist role within the Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital offers a unique chance to become part of a dynamic, collaborative interdisciplinary team. This position adds value to patient care and significantly assists individuals with breathing issues. The therapist is learning and incorporating the mission statement and standards of behavior of his/her hospital or care facility. This therapist performs basic competencies within orientation and provides satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision. The role supports newborns and OB patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center in Cleveland.

Requirements

Associate's Degree in Respiratory
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Current RCP Ohio License granted by the Ohio Medical Board
NRP Certified (Neonatal facilities) (Required within 6 Months)

Nice To Haves

1+ years Respiratory Therapy
Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
American Association for Respiratory Care membership
Previous pediatric experience

Responsibilities

Mechanical ventilation
Medicated aerosol delivery
Airway clearance therapy
Patient monitoring
Oxygen and humidity therapy
Special procedures (CPR, specialty gases, bronchoscopy, transport, etc.)
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
