Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. Radiology Technologists may specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30AM – 5:00PM, including every other weekend.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), in good standing
  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

Responsibilities

  • Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Maintain documentation.
  • Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator.
  • Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of patients and process billing.
