About The Position

Flex RN – Internal Agency Contract (Telemetry Unit) Location: TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital - TELE Unit Contract Length: 4–13 weeks Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts/week, every third weekend (minimum), one holiday per contract Candidates must have 2 years of current acute care experience, at least 1 year on telemetry (or cardiac stepdown, progressive care unit, intermediate care unit - any unit caring primarily for patients on cardiac monitors) BLS, ACLS required NIHSS preferred Travel or float experience preferred Cardiac experience preferred This position applies the nursing process in providing direct and indirect holistic care to patients and their families. The position also collaborates, in a collegial manner, with physicians and other health care team members in meeting the patient's needs. This position may delegate certain aspects of care to those under their direct supervision, within the scope of nursing practice. This position works in a variety of areas across the system, requiring flexibility and a broad range of nursing knowledge.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
2 - 3 years Clinical Nursing in Acute Care Setting (Required)
Knowledge, judgement, and skills derived from the Principles of Biological, Physical, Behavioral, Social, and Nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Registered Nurse Required
2 years of current acute care experience
at least 1 year on telemetry (or cardiac stepdown, progressive care unit, intermediate care unit - any unit caring primarily for patients on cardiac monitors)
BLS, ACLS required

Documents the patient/family response to care including teaching.
Collaborates with patient/family and with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, to revise plan of care as needed.
Supervises the care that was delegated to other health care team members.
Implements plan of care for patient.
Provides safe and therapeutic environment while maintaining patient's autonomy, dignity, and rights.
Determines plan of care based on ethical principles as outlined in the TriHealth Code of Ethical Business and Professional Behavior.
Acts as a patient advocate.
Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity.

Prioritizes the workload according to patient's needs, requests, and the needs of the unit/facility.
Recognizes emergent situations, notifies appropriate personnel, and begins emergency measures.

Updates current plan of care as needed based on patient/family input and healthcare needs.
Develops both short and long term goals with patient/family and healthcare team including discharge planning.
