About The Position

This position offers a $2,000 (1 year stay-on agreement) or 4,000 (2 year stay-on agreement) Sign On Bonus with the agency!  This bonus will be provided upon completion of a probationary period. $3.35 Stipend Tier Pay for working in the BCU CMHA-CEI is a Michigan Certified Bronze Level Veteran Friendly Employer and we encourage active military service members, veterans, and their family members to apply. Responsibilities: Under the supervision of a Supervisor/Coordinator, serves as a staff nurse, performing a variety of duties depending on the area of assignment.  May be responsible for the orderly administration and maintenance of medication, which involves administering prescribed drugs.  Participates in interdisciplinary planning of care and treatment ensuring the coordination of medical services to consumers served by the program.  May render general nursing care and provide medical support in accordance with approved nursing practices.  Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: providing information and assistance specific to the area of assignment performing admissions, screening on new consumers, serving as agency liaison, performing crisis intervention activities, and providing patient education.  Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA’s mission, policies and procedures. Requirements: Possession of an Associate’s degree or a diploma in Nursing required. Possession of a State of Michigan license as a Registered Nurse required. One-year experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with a person who has a mental illness required. Possession of First Aid and CPR Certification required. At least one year of work experience serving adults with co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance abuse) and serious mental illness preferred. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation for job related use required. Familiarity with computers required. Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check including fingerprinting, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
