About The Position

Stoneman 5 is a 24‑bed inpatient surgical unit specializing in Ortho GYN, GYN Oncology, and GU surgery. The unit provides high‑quality post‑operative care to a diverse surgical population and is preparing for an exciting transition to an oncology‑focused model through an upcoming collaboration with Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute. This is a dynamic environment ideal for nurses passionate about surgical care and oncology. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will engage in an innovative orientation focused on developing Neuroscience nursing clinical competence and confidence through a structured, evidence-based program. Fostering a dynamic team environment and collaborating to address complex patient needs from our unit-based educators, clinical nurse specialists, rehabilitative support staff, and physician providers are the key to our success. Our team takes great pride in providing kind and compassionate care not only to our patients but in caring for one another. We seek candidates interested in advancing their nursing practice and learning alongside outstanding clinical mentors but also wanting to be part of a team. As a multidisciplinary unit within a major academic medical center, extensive training is provided to our nurses to increase their skills via a phased approach.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • 1-3 years related work experience required.
  • License Registered Nurse required.
  • American Heart Association – Basic Life support Certificate required.

Nice To Haves

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgments.
  • Responsible for systematically assessing the health care needs of individuals or groups and for the formulation of a care plan, its implementation and evaluation.
  • Demonstrates the ability for decision making by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience in caring for patients.
  • Coordinates the care of patients and directs assistive personnel in order to provide safe, effective, efficient, equitable and timely, patient-centered care.

  • Demonstrate the ability to act as a patient advocate.
  • Maintains annual mandatory education requirements, which include emergency skills and unit based competencies.
