Requirements

  • Current NC RN license (NC licensure or multi-state compact license).
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years of recent acute care experience preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Decisive judgment and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Handle with Care certification within 4 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the medical staff and other healthcare team members to provide quality patient care.
  • Performs all activities in accordance with approved policies and guidelines.
  • Supervises and delegates appropriate duties to ancillary personnel.
  • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition appropriately to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patients and families, providing education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
