About The Position

The(CLC) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care. The CLC provides care for the veterans who are on short stay rehabilitation, short stay skilled nursing, hospice, respite, long stay, veterans who have spinal cord injuries.

Requirements

  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
  • Must accept all shifts

Responsibilities

  • Establishes a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to attain, maintain or regain optimal function through assessment and treatment.
  • Demonstrates positive, effective communication skills and professional behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork with internal and external customers.
  • Applies evidence-based practice /research to patient care.
  • Responsible for maintaining competency to continue personal and professional growth.
  • Incorporates patient preferences into shared care delivery decisions.
  • Aware of high reliability principles to deliver consistent care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Manages workload as assigned, organizes, and completes own assignments in an efficient and appropriate manner
  • Must be flexible and open to changes during their shift in order to meet and provide resident centeric care.
  • Performs by leading and organizing delivery of care, assuring continuity of care and peer accountability for practice.
  • The CLC RN is accountable to the Nurse Manager for the Community Living Center.
