About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Clinic provides high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients and their families in an outpatient setting. The RN works collaboratively with providers, medical assistants, and other healthcare team members to promote health, prevent illness, and manage pediatric patients’ acute and chronic conditions.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Utah.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical nursing experience preferred; pediatric experience strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on patients, documenting findings accurately and timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments according to provider orders and clinic protocols.
  • Provide age-appropriate patient and family education regarding health conditions, treatments, medications, and preventive care.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing as needed
  • Triage patient phone calls and messages, prioritizing care needs and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Communicate effectively with providers and clinic staff to coordinate patient care and ensure safe, efficient clinic flow.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to providers promptly.
  • Maintain accurate immunization records and assist in compliance with state and federal vaccine programs (e.g., VFC).
  • Support patient-centered care through empathy, active listening, and culturally sensitive communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection control, and safety practices.
  • Ensure exam rooms, equipment, and supplies are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Ensures that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Wears appropriate clothing for job functions.
  • Wears ID badge.
  • Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, administration, and staff.
  • Represents the organization positively and professionally in the community.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
