About The Position

SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse (RN) will direct nursing care to our Colville Tribal Healthcare Authority patients in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. We require that they provide the highest degree of care to every patient. The Registered Nurse will perform their job duties in a professional manner while assuring that all the needs of the staff and patients are met with a pleasant demeanor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide hands-on patient care, ensuring that the patient’s needs and preferences are respected in all aspects of their care Work with the physicians and healthcare team members to administer nursing interventions and provide treatment Provide education to patients and their families about health issues Develop plan of care for patients based on the patient's health history, health behavior and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals Conduct patient assessments and observations such as checking vital signs Respond to emergencies in a timely manner and address issues that can impact patient care Record and maintain files and forms that document patient history, symptoms and care in compliance with Federal, State, and LRCHC guidelines Administer the prescribed treatments and medications, start intravenous lines and provide treatments such as wound care Complies and ensures compliance with applicable legislation, funding and organizational requirements, policies and procedures Ensure confidential handling of sensitive team member information in line with data protection policies and laws Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and 2 (two) years of clinical nursing experience; OR Associates Degree in Nursing (AND) and 4 (four) years of clinical nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support and Wound Care Certifications are required within initial 90 (ninety) days of employment
  • Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language
  • Ability to utilize RPMS and EHR proficiently
  • Requires ability to utilize a multi-line telephone with good telephone etiquette
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Well-developed human relation skills to convey technical concepts to others, to deal with sensitive and confidential information, to give instructions and training, and to facilitate training and discussions in individual and group settings
  • Ability to communicate technical information and to interact with a wide variety of groups and individuals inside and outside the organization
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work processes in a high-volume environment in order to meet deadlines and to comply with goals and objectives
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends
  • Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License is required and be insurable
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Manual and finger dexterity to complete duties
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and reach
  • Ability to push and pull frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 (fifty) pounds periodically
  • Ability to comprehend complex issues
