Position Summary: The RN Nurse Designee position requires an understanding and commitment to the mission and core values of Charter Senior Living by exhibiting professional and ethical work practices. RN Nurse Designee is to act in the absence of the SALSA (Supervisor of Assisted Living) and shall be available to provide relief for the SALSA as needed. This position is responsible for the oversight and management of staff and residents with the primary focus of serving the healthcare needs of Charter Senior Living residents in accordance with Federal and state regulations and standards. The RN Nurse Designee assures the quality of care for residents in conjunction with the Executive director, Nurse Designee, and other department managers.

Requirements

  • Has familiarity and willingness to work with the elderly population.
  • Demonstrates ability to appropriately delegate responsibility with necessary authority without relinquishing his/her overall responsibility and accountability for the delegated task.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems in a timely manner, develop effective resolutions to those problems and ensure implementation of the proposed resolution, confirm results, and revise as necessary.

  • Previous experience is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising assigned nursing personnel and assisted living aides in the delivery of nursing services and assistance with the provision of activities of daily living.
  • Ensuring the evaluation of the clinical competence of assigned nursing personnel and assisted living aides.
  • Participates and develops objectives, standards of care, policies and procedures concerning nursing services and the provision of assistance with activities of daily living.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of daily assignments of duties for nursing staff to assure 24-hour coverage.
  • Participates in program planning, budget building, maintaining the budget, and evaluating of activities.
  • Responsible for quality management program; monitors core measures; promotes team building, staff development, and empowerment.
  • Responsible for on-call support.
