About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides assistance to and is under the supervision of the Clinic Administrator. in the examination and treatment of patients in the clinic and performs routine tests for the purpose of evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. Provides clinical services such as skin tests and administers prescribed medication and treatment. Draws blood, gives injections, administers and reads skin tests, administers immunizations and vaccinations, obtains laboratory specimens, such as throat cultures. Observes signs and symptoms and reports to the physician reaction to treatment, including drugs and changes in the patients physical and emotional condition. Assists in the epidemiological investigations, e.g., obtains names of communicable disease contacts and makes referrals for tests and medical care. S/He will educate patients, families and staff about preventive care and family planning. Obtains health histories, supervises the day-to-day work of aides and volunteers and assists in their training. S/He will also participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) meetings. Will perform other duties as assigned. The R.N. will participate in QA/QI and Quality Measures (QM) meetings and prepare records and reports for audit purposes and clinic productivity. At minimum, s/he will attend ongoing trainings in using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and attend Continuing Education Units (CEUs). S/he will review quality measures and patient satisfaction surveys and implement necessary improvement plans to reach required thresholds. S/he will perform other duties as assigned. For a Supervising R.N., s/he will be responsible for the supervision of R.N.s, Licensed Vocational Nurses (L.V.N.s), and other clinical staff. The Supervising R.N. acts in the absence of the Clinic Administrator.

Requirements

  • Principles, techniques and procedures of nursing, including prevention and control of infectious disease
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with clinical teams
  • Follow oral and written directions
  • Mature judgement, tact, discretion and confidentiality are mandatory
  • A professional, pleasant and effective representation of the corporation is required
  • Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance and a valid California drivers license
  • Must submit to and pass a drug test, a criminal background clearance, and a fitness for duty as a pre-condition for employment
  • Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster, TB test, MMR, TDAP and Hepatitis B vaccines
  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California, under the scope of work of California Board of Registered Nursing
