Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing with current licensure in the State of Ohio or multi-state with Ohio recognized.
A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
Completion of twenty-four (24) contact hours of approved Continuing Education (CE) during each two (2) year licensure renewal period as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
Continuous certification in American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS).
Certification in American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of employment and maintenance of bi-annual renewal thereafter.
Completion of National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification within six (6) months of hire and annual renewal thereafter.
Completion of Behavioral Health & De-Escalation Training (BHDT) within six (6) months of hire and annual renewal thereafter.

Responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process including assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Direct and coordinate all nursing care for assigned patients, ensuring effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Maintain accurate and timely data collection for direct and indirect patient care.
Document patient care activities thoroughly and reflectively on appropriate hospital forms.
Educate patients and their families on relevant health information and provide written materials as needed.
