NURSING HIRING EVENT April 21, 2026 (9:00AM - 4:00PM) Roanoke River and Bertie Correctional Institutions are hosting a recruiting event for nursing staff! This event WILL NOT be hosted at the actual Correctional Institutions; instead, the event will be held at Halifax Community College:100 College Drive, Weldon, NC 27890, Building 400 Halifax Community College 100 College Dr, Weldon, NC 27890 Building 400 These are full-time positions (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. The Division of Comprehensive Health Services provides evidence-based, compassionate, and constitutionally consistent medical care to all offenders in custody. Their goal is to ensure that all offenders receive full-spectrum medical care from the time of entry until their release. The team of physicians, nurses, behavioral health services, dental services, psychiatric services, pharmacy services, and licensed healthcare administration services work together to provide emergent, acute, routine, and chronic health care, as well as preventive medicine at all prison facilities. They also coordinate with specialists and other clinical consultants outside of prisons throughout the state to ensure comprehensive health and well-being towards a safe transition from prison, improving public health, and decreasing recidivism. Requirements

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.

Responsibilities

Deliver professional nursing care in compliance with medical protocols, policies, and NC Board of Nursing scope of practice.
Conduct sick calls and assessments, assist physicians, carry out orders, and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
Respond to medical emergencies, monitor communicable diseases, counsel patients on compliance with diet, medications, and treatment, manage inquiries, schedule appointments, and order medications and supplies.
Provide oversight and guidance to LPN and CNA I/II staff as designated by management.
