About The Position

Pierce County's only Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic is looking for a qualified Registered Nurse to join our Youth Residents in Tacoma WA. Pearl is one of 5 Children's Long-term Inpatient Programs (CLIP) in the state, and we serve youth ages 12-18 who have demonstrated an inability to maintain safety in their home or community. Nurses will work alongside providers and clinical teams to develop treatment criteria and goals. Nursing will assist in assessing medication efficacy and physical assessments. Nursing will arrange and assist with community appointments.

Requirements

  • RN. WA State Registered Nurse (or multi-state or compact licensure).
  • One year of work experience of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current food handler’s permit
  • If role requires driving, must have valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and working vehicle.
  • May require an annual flu and TB shot verification, and must be willing to follow other measures as directed by the Infection Control Manager.
  • May require annual N95 fit testing
  • If working at Pearl Youth Residence, must have the ability to be certified in Handle with Care verbal de-escalation and physical constraint strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing and medical services to clients
  • Provide education regarding prescribed treatment
  • Document in the progress notes the provision of care and the clinical and behavioral observations of clients
  • Administer and document medications, adhering to state and program guidelines
  • Provide first aid and emergency medical care as needed, following program guidelines
  • Transcribe provider orders, following program protocols
  • Measure and document client vital signs
  • Other duties within the scope of practice as outlined by the Washington State Board of Nursing
  • Attend all mandatory meetings
  • Maintain licensure, certification and other requirements for the position.
  • Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to design, implement, maintain, and evaluate individually tailored care plans for each client.
