About The Position

Blythedale Children's Hospital is a leading pediatric hospital dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care. As the only free-standing children's specialty hospital in New York State, we admit patients with complex medical conditions to our state-of-the-art 94-bed inpatient facility from academic medical centers across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. Located just 25 miles north of Manhattan in beautiful Westchester County, we offer an inspiring work environment where healthcare professionals thrive. Under the direction of the nursing leader, the Registered Nurse diagnoses and treats human responses to actual or potential health problems. The RN provides health teaching, counseling, and support to our patients and their families. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a group of patients.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure by the New York State Department of Education as a registered professional nurse.
  • BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a pediatric setting.
  • PALS certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Make a meaningful impact by providing direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Drive professional growth by actively participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Weekend & Holiday commitment required.
