About The Position

- The Registered Nurse (RN) at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in a behavioral health setting. The RN will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care, while adhering to established protocols and standards. This role is crucial in promoting patient recovery and well-being, particularly during the first shift.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Minimum of 6 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a behavioral health setting
  • Proven experience in managing patient care and treatment plans
  • Experience in shift work, with the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong understanding of psychiatric and behavioral health care practices
  • Excellent patient assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to develop and implement effective care plans
  • Proficient in electronic medical records and healthcare technology systems
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and mental health needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with prescribed protocols.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress and response to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education to enhance professional development and improve patient care.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Act as a resource and mentor for less experienced nursing staff and students.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, providing leadership and guidance as needed.
