About The Position

The Registered Nurse, Women's Health Veterans Program Manager (WHVPM) provides substantial responsibility for the coordination and evaluation of the overall veterans' program at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital and its outlying clinics. The Registered Nurse (RN) Women's Health Veterans Program Manager (WHVPM) provides substantial responsibility for the coordination and evaluation of the overall veterans' program at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital and its outlying clinics. The position of the WHVPM is visible across multiple service and/or discipline lines and has significant impact regarding the organizational mission, vision, values and strategic priorities of the Medical Center as it relates to care of women veterans.

Requirements

  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Responsibilities

  • Provides executive input in the strategic planning, budget, mission, operational planning and policy development for local and network efforts. Chairs local Women Veterans Advisory Committee; Membership on Facility Executive Level Committees as well as designated VISN level committees.
  • Assesses, designs, measures, and evaluates, health care delivery to women veterans through analysis of the environment that facilitates health care delivery to women veterans. Uses current trends and relevant theory in problem analysis.
  • Serves as a liaison for women veterans with management and veterans service organization.
  • Provides leadership in the development, implementation, and review/revision of policies, protocols, procedures, standards of care, competencies and privileges for complex and diverse integrated programs and evaluates operational outcomes.
  • IManages patients with acute and chronic health conditions with an emphasis on women's health and sex-related care, to include, but not limited to, health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice.
  • Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management.
  • Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with the Women's Health Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provides education to patients and their families.
  • Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
