About The Position

Come and join our new Riley VAT (Vascular Access Team)! The Vascular Access Team is intended to use knowledge regarding intended treatments or interventions and forecast vascular access needs of an individual patient. The ideal candidate will have pediatric critical care experience, vascular access and ultrasound experience, be competent in starting basic PIV's, venipuncture, and have proficient IV skills. SonoSite training is preferred. The incumbent should also have excellent time management skills, communication skills and coaching skills.  The VAT RN will support and attain vascular access on patients, coach, and mentor nurses on IV starts and peripheral sticks, and perform bedside care as needed.  The VAT RN will be responsible for facilitating patient needs and assists with interdisciplinary provider & physician collaboration as well as collaboration with nursing, pharmacy, CNS, and provider team. 

Requirements

  • Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Minimum of one year of RN experience
