The Telemetry/Observation Unit is a 30-bed unit specializing in cardiac, medical, and surgical patients. The unit offers an individualized, comprehensive orientation program, a residency program for new graduates, and provides courses such as Basic Rhythm, ACLS certification, and NIHSS. A mentorship program is available after orientation, along with opportunities for committee participation and professional growth through a Clinical Ladder. There is leadership presence on every shift, and the role serves as a steppingstone to an ICU/CCU career. The position is full-time, averaging 72 hours biweekly, with 12-hour night shifts (7-7) and requires working every third weekend, with eligibility for a weekend differential. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for implementing, directing, and coordinating patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, including recognizing and treating physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served.
