About The Position

Overview of Unit/Department Surgical 900 W South is a 25 bed adult med/surg unit. We care for a variety of patients with our specialty focused on GI and GU post-surgical patients. We offer special training for suprapubic catheter insertion, post-bariatric surgery training and much more. We work very closely with other disciplines to provide excellent care and outcomes. Our unit is equipped with the latest technology, including the new virtual nursing program. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Nursing License active in the state of Missouri
BLS must be obtained within 90 days
ACLS within a year of hire
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
Exhibits valuable time management skills
Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Previous nursing experience

Responsibilities

Assess patient health problems and needs
Develop and implement nursing care plans
Maintain medical records
Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients.
May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
