About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty at Franciscan Health is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in specialty clinics. This role involves assisting providers and coworkers in coordinating patient care and acting as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers. Requirements

• Associate's Degree Nursing/Patient Care
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, rooming patients, taking vitals, obtain medical history, administer vaccines, injections, medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing, medication reconciliation, starting IVs, triage, assisting with procedures, and conduct rounds with providers.
• Provide exceptional service to those we are privileged to serve including internal and external customers, via phone, electronic and in person.
• Utilize clear and concise written and verbal communication skills on multiple levels.
• Perform analysis and critical thinking to support provider.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on diagnosis, medications, procedures, treatment plans and chronic care management.
• Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills.
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
