About The Position
At Franciscan, Registered Nurses (RNs) in Specialty are responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients in specialty clinics. This role is critical in assisting providers and coworkers in coordinating patient care and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers. Requirements
- Associate's Degree Nursing/Patient Care
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, rooming patients, taking vitals, obtain medical history, administer vaccines, injections, medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing, medication reconciliation, starting IVs, triage, assisting with procedures, and conduct rounds with providers.
- Provide exceptional service to those we are privileged to serve including internal and external customers, via phone, electronic and in person.
- Demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills on multiple levels.
- Perform analysis and critical thinking to support provider.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on diagnosis, medications, procedures, treatment plans and chronic care management.
- Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills.
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
