Requirements

  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum six (6) months experience in Acute or Subacute care setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Current ACLS (AHA) certificate upon hire preferred.
  • Current PALS (AHA) certificate upon hire preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care within his/her scope of practice within the Subacute setting.
  • Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in the Subacute Unit.
  • Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients.
  • Communicates with physicians, the Subacute Unit Director, Charge RN, and/or co-workers about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac and respiratory monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
  • Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
  • Works with other departments and co-workers to provide quality patient care across the continuum, efficient patient flow, unit maintenance and organization.
  • Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
  • Participates actively in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services.
  • Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
