Requirements
- Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum six (6) months experience in Acute or Subacute care setting.
Nice To Haves
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate upon hire preferred.
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate upon hire preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care within his/her scope of practice within the Subacute setting.
- Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in the Subacute Unit.
- Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients.
- Communicates with physicians, the Subacute Unit Director, Charge RN, and/or co-workers about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac and respiratory monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
- Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
- Works with other departments and co-workers to provide quality patient care across the continuum, efficient patient flow, unit maintenance and organization.
- Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
- Participates actively in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services.
- Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
