About The Position

Sentara RMH Medical Center is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join its Same Day Surgery team. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care, adhering to the critical thinking model of the nursing process, and upholding professional performance standards. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills specific to the clinical area. Sentara RMH Medical Center is a Magnet designated hospital in Harrisonburg, VA, serving a seven-county area with a population of 218,000 and employing 2600 locals. This 238-bed community hospital has been serving the area since 1912 and partnered with Sentara Health System in 2011. Sentara RMH features the RMH Hahn Cancer Center and handles a high volume of medical procedures including 1800 delivered babies, 60,000 emergency patients, and 21,000 surgical procedures. Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (Certification/Licensure)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous acute care experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
  • Adhere to standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
  • Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
