About The Position
This position is a temporary position supporting Camp Thunderbird in Lake Wylie, SC . We are seeking a temporary nurse to provide triage, assessment, and care for campers ages 7–16 throughout the summer season. This role supports the Health Center team in delivering high‑quality, compassionate care in a fast‑paced camp environment. Key Details Schedule: June 1st-August 8th; 12‑hour shifts Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM Evening Shift: 9:30 AM – 10:00 PM Rotation: Includes weekends on a rotating schedule Setting: On‑site camp health center serving overnight and day campers We welcome you to join our Ambulatory Nursing team at Atrium Health Greater Charlotte! Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- One year of Nursing experience needed
Nice To Haves
- P ediatric, Urgent care or ER experience preferred
Responsibilities
- As a camp nurse you will provide first aid, triage illness/injuries
- Assist with virtual visits
- Perform point of care testing
- Assist/ supervise campers with self-injections as needed
- Respond to any medical emergencies and help maintain the camp health center.
- Collaboration with camp staff to support camper health and safety
- Documentation and communication with parents/guardians as needed
