About The Position

Under the direction of the DON, Registered Nurses work closely with the Medical Director and other multidisciplinary team members to identify, assess and respond to a wide range of physical, psychological and social needs of clients. This position is for an adult Behavioral Health Inpatient facility located in the north foothills of Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

Attainment of at least 21 years of age.
Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility.
Currently licensed to practice by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
CPR certification upon hire.
Successful completion of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraint procedures.
Must have a Level I AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card, and able to pass required clearances and background checks.
Must be able to display proficient oral and written communication skills.
Must have a current negative TB test.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Provide a current Arizona Driver License, and current, clean, 39-month Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) if available and preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and documents pertinent information including behavioral health, physical health and/or substance abuse issues.
Provides support and participates during crisis intervention with ability to de-escalate to ensure the patient's safety and the safety of others.
Transcribes Medical Provider orders and administers prescribed medications.
Performs chart checks and signs off on noted medications.
Participates in the planning of patient treatment as part of the multidisciplinary clinical team.
Draws labs and provides wound care as medically required or ordered.
Assist as requested to provide education to patients, and team regarding behavioral health diagnosis, medications and treatments.
Maintains and completes all training requirements, and certifications as required by position to be in compliance.
Attends and participates in regularly schedule meetings and provides information to improve the quality of services or to resolve issues.
Assist with maintaining and ensuring the cleanliness of the medication room and all other common areas utilized by the patients.
Other responsibilities as may be assigned.
