Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit offers quality care for high-risk babies, such as premature babies born at 32 weeks or later and babies born with low birth weight. In addition, St. Charles specializes in "couplet care," which stands apart from standard maternity nursing care. Job Details Our NICU RNs: Provide direct and specialized care for newborns needing close monitoring due to premature birth, birth defects, infection, or other medical conditions in a Level II NICU setting. Assist in developing and implementing a plan of care for high-risk newborns requiring high-technology care, including mechanical ventilation, and other special equipment. Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction. Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients and their loved ones through safety intervention, coaching, emotional support and education.

Requirements

  • Passion for Critical Care and working with neonates
  • 2+ Years of acute care hospital based Registered Nurse (RN) experience
  • Prior experience working in Obstetrics, Maternal Child (Mother- Baby), Women’s Health, or Pediatrics required
  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) & Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required

Nice To Haves

  • NICU experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
