Registered Nurse (RN) - University Center for Pain Management
About The Position
The University Center for Pain Management at UT Medical Center is dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. Our multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive, compassionate care using advanced techniques and evidence-based practices. We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing pain management team. The RN will play a vital role in assessing, performing pre and post op duties, and implementing individualized care plans for patients experiencing pain, while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of Tennessee.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (pain management or related specialty preferred; new graduates welcome).
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pain assessments and document findings accurately.
- Administer pain relief medications and monitor patient responses.
- Assist physicians with interventional pain procedures (e.g., injections, nerve blocks).
- Educate patients and families on pain management strategies, medication safety, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
