About The Position

Centerstone is among the nation’s leading nonprofit behavioral health systems. This job is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a PRN capacity, with a specific shift from 2pm to 10pm. The RN will be responsible for assessing and monitoring nursing care, providing direct nursing services to clients/patients, and demonstrating leadership skills, including the ability to perform Charge Nurse Duties. A general knowledge base in Mental Health and Addictions nursing and Psychotropic medications is essential for this role. The position involves working with adults and adolescents, obtaining and entering physician orders into EMR, administering medications, developing and maintaining treatment plans, and guiding Behavioral Health Technicians. The RN will also coordinate staff assignments, lead patient care teams, participate in Peer Review, and monitor seclusion and restraint protocols.

Requirements

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Competency with electronic medical records, computer systems, and documentation.
  • Accountable and self-directed with daily job duties.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills in order to collaborate with team members and maintain professionalism.
  • Graduate of an approved school or college of nursing.
  • Current Florida licensure as a registered professional nurse.
  • Must have a valid FL driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Mental Health Nursing experience with Adults and Adolescents preferred.
  • Leadership skills a plus
  • Knowledge base in Psychotropic Medications.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Nursing Assessments and monitoring of Adults/Adolescents
  • Obtains and enters orders into EMR from Attending/on-call physician
  • Administers medications and treatments efficient and effectively as prescribed by a physician.
  • Evaluates clients/patients nursing needs; develops and maintains Treatment Plan.
  • Provides guidance to Behavioral Health Technicians in their administering to the nursing needs of clients/patients.
  • Coordinates client/patient staff assignments for patient care and documentation
  • Effectively leads team in delivering patient care as unit Charge Nurse
  • Actively participates in PI (Peer Review) and disseminates information to staff.
  • Monitors seclusion and restraint for appropriate patient care and documentation.
