About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care in a correctional healthcare setting. The RN will deliver patient-centered care, execute provider orders, administer medications, assist with examinations, and respond to medical emergencies while ensuring safety, compliance, and quality care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma or Degree in Nursing)
Active RN license in the state of employment
Valid driver’s license
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred
Strong clinical, communication, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work in a secure correctional healthcare environment

Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care, including assessments, treatments, and medication administration
Execute provider orders and assist during medical examinations and procedures
Conduct sick calls and maintain examination rooms and equipment
Administer medications and document accurately per policy
Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with providers
Assess new residents and refer to emergency care as needed
Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and coordinate discharges
Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed medical staff
Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential medical records
Audit medical services and pharmacy use for compliance
Monitor and document resident behavior and health conditions
Ensure safety within the medical unit and proper storage of supplies
Provide health education and counseling to residents
Prepare reports, logs, and documentation in a timely manner
Support accreditation and regulatory compliance processes
Respond to legal requests, including documentation and court appearances if required
Report and manage incidents, accidents, and unusual occurrences
