About The Position

RN-ER PRN, Third Shift Emergency Dept. I Corbin, KY The Emergency Department is a 28-bed level III, emergency department, established to provide care for individuals with acute medical or surgical illnesses or injuries for which immediate medical attention is required or desired. Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Must possess the ability to supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives. Description: Patient Assessment & Documentation RN Completes and documents initial and ongoing patient assessments Records changes in patient status and/or critical events Participates in rounding and handoff reports Care Planning Develops and updates plan of care every shift Establishes realistic and measurable goals Evaluates patient response to interventions Education & Discharge Planning Creates individualized education plans for patients and families Initiates and participates in discharge planning using hospital and community resources Multidisciplinary Approach Bases plan of care on nursing diagnosis, addressing physiological and psychological needs Incorporates input from multiple disciplines to meet patient/family needs Communication & Evaluation Communicates patient status to peers, supervisors, and physicians Evaluates effectiveness of nursing care Documents care accurately and completely per policy Ensures charting reflects interventions and education Demonstrates knowledge of quality improvement processes

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
  • Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC)
  • Nurse Wound Care
  • Aegis Training
  • 12 Lead Basic Cardiac Arrythmia
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • ACLS, PALS, Basic Cardiac Arrythmia, NIH Stroke Certification, Glucometer Training, 12 Lead, Aegis Training, Nurse Wound Care, TNCC.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of clinical management experience preferred.
