About The Position

Join our team as a Registered Nurse at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, located in Minneapolis. The hospital offers a broad range of pediatric programs including surgery, imaging, neonatal and pediatric intensive care, cardiac and oncology services, and blood and marrow and organ transplantation. The Pediatric Med/Surg Unit has 24 Beds and provides non-intensive care to pediatric patients with specialty populations such as pediatric hematology/oncology, solid organ transplant, GI/GU & metabolic cases, as well as general medical surgical pediatric care, trauma, orthopedic, ENT, and neurosurgical patients. The team collaborates with an interdisciplinary team including MDs, NPs, NSTs, OT/PT, Speech, and SW to deliver high-quality care. Fairview also offers a nurse residency program for eligible new graduate RNs.

Requirements

  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • 1+ year of current Pediatric RN Experience Required
  • Will Consider New Grad with Internship/Capstone in Pediatrics

Nice To Haves

  • Acute Care Inpatient RN pediatric med/surg
  • Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Trained, Required
  • Recent experience in care of transplant patients
  • BSN or greater nursing degree

Responsibilities

  • Provides complex care to pediatric patient/families preparing for and undergoing blood and marrow transplantation, pediatric hematology-oncology, urology, blood and marrow, metabolic, and gastrointestinal disorders
  • Performs advanced monitoring using current technology
  • Manages sophisticated medication and infusion therapies
  • Cares for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit
  • Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment
