Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school or university
  • Completion of all Orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
  • Successful completion of all orientation programs
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association upon hire
  • PALS certification within 3 months of hire
  • Must be I.V. certified from an approved facility or completion of requirements for I.V. certification within 90 days of hire to unit

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in Pediatrics in an acute care setting

Responsibilities

  • Organize and administers individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care.
  • Supports philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing.
  • Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements and other regulatory agencies.
  • Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning.
  • Participates in Unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
