About The Position
Seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse to provide post-anesthesia care in an acute care hospital setting. The RN will monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, manage pain and vital signs, and collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe patient recovery.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU and/or critical care experience (within the last 2 years)
- Experience in acute care hospitals of similar or larger size
- Travelers must have experience in equal or higher-acuity hospitals or trauma centers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice To Haves
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients in the PACU
- Monitor airway, vital signs, and level of consciousness
- Assess and manage post-operative pain and complications
- Administer medications per protocols
- Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams
